Camping cooking equipment gear

Camping cooking equipment gear

When camping, preparing meals is often the greatest difficulty of campers, especially if you are camping for a long time far from civilization. Meals preparation is of course a lot harder when camping compared to cooking at your own home with water, cookware and all the small things that make our life so much easier. It is however possible to make outdoor cooking a pleasure by having the adequate preparation and by acquiring the right pieces of Camping Cookware.

What to consider about cooking gears:

So let’s take a look at what matters when coming to the cooking gear.

Size matters, the smaller the better: You don’t want to have anything big, harder to carry and it turns out to be a waste of space.

Weight: Some materials are a lot heavier than others, and if you walk or hike, then you want the gear to be effortless to carry.

Price: How much are you ready to invest?

Durability: Some stoves can last a life time; others need to be changed way too often.

What you usually need:

You might need different Cooking Equipment depending on your situation but you will at least need the fallowing materials as a minimum: Make a list of the kind of foods you want to prepare and from that point see what is needed.

Adding a cover to pot and pans will allow faster cooking.

Keep the space is limited for almost everything.

When cooking directly over a fire, use heavy-duty pots.

Lighter pots give more uneven heat distribution

Hygiene

What many people forget during camping is that hygiene is even more important in the outdoor then at your home. The exposure to bacteria is bigger and people tend to spend less time to clean the cooking equipment. Make sure to clean all pans and pots after cooking to keep bacteria away. In a perfect world everybody would have their own gear to reduce the risk

Fire Safety

One of the most important considerations when it comes to cooking and camping is fire safety.
